The book was written in the late sixties and has a lot of elements of a classic fairy tale. Having somewhat vague magic, ancient kings, curses, and romance. The movie cuts quite a bit, including the rather important harpy tits dangling all about. It was made in the early eighties and it’s usually noted as being animated by Topcraft.
